Piper's The Future of Justification is definitely the one I'm plowing through first. I'm in Chapter 10, but there are also six appendices after the 12 chapters.

I've been very interested in N T Wright for 4 or 5 years, but I'm afraid I haven't done enough original study in his works. I think Piper has hit just the right analysis of the central points in Wright's doctrine of justification, but I say that based on my understanding of the Bible, not on any expertise in understanding Wright.

I do think Wright has a lot of other things to say. Had he said them in the context of his original allegiance to traditional Protestant doctrines, he would have been a mighty ally indeed. As it is, there are still lots of good things to learn from Wright. But a new paradigm for justification and imputation are not those things.

Which are you reading first? I'll need a new manageable (easier than Owen) book to read soon.

Good to have you blogging again. I recently read Piper's new one. It was crystal clear. Honestly, I wondered how well Piper would represent NTW before I read the book. But after reading, I appreciate John Piper as a careful scholar and pastor all the more.

Telluride is a festival, and a town, in Colorado. They pack in music and bands that are way out on the edge, not bluegrass in my opinion. I'm sure Tim O'Brien can flourish at both kinds of festivals, but give me straight bluegrass or at least traditional-sounding music.
